🚐 Travelling to Venice by Campervan
One of the best parts of our trip was arriving in Venice by campervan. Instead of staying directly in the busy city, we parked at San Giuliano Venice Campervan Park, which is perfectly located on the mainland with amazing views across the lagoon toward Venice. It’s a great spot for motorhome travelers, with good facilities and easy access into the city. From there, we simply caught the water taxi across the lagoon into Venice, turning the journey itself into part of the adventure. Gliding across the water and seeing the skyline of Venice slowly appear in front of us was an unforgettable way to arrive in the floating city—and after a full day of exploring canals, bridges, and cafés, it was easy to return to the campervan for a relaxing evening.

Venice is famous for its canals, which act as the city’s roads. Boats replace cars, and the main waterway—the Grand Canal—winds through the heart of the city like a giant blue ribbon.
Lined with magnificent palaces built hundreds of years ago, the Grand Canal offers some of the most iconic views in Europe. Whether you take a vaporetto (water bus) or simply walk along the canals, every turn reveals another postcard-perfect scene.
